This is a true one-man operation: Roger is the only instructor, which means you get the same person every lesson — no rotation, no inconsistency, no re-explaining your skill level to a new instructor each week.
He explicitly advertises the lowest rates in Central New York, citing lower overhead from having no employees. Reviews call him out by name repeatedly as patient, thorough, and genuinely invested in student success. The tradeoff: because it’s a one-person operation, scheduling flexibility is more limited. But for students who value consistency of instruction over scheduling convenience, Roman’s is the quality pick in Syracuse.
ABLE 2 is the downtown Syracuse option with 113 reviews at 4.4. Located on Park Street, they’re the most accessible school for Syracuse University students who rely on Centro bus routes. The Park Street location is reachable by multiple bus lines from the University Hill area.
Reviews are mostly positive with particular praise for instructor Steve, who multiple students credit with helping them overcome driving anxiety.
